  My wife and I plan on eventually retiring in the Port Charlotte / Englewood Florida area and wanted to purchase our home now, as the home prices have rising steadily over the last few years. Retiring in this area was a “no brainer” as we will be only minutes from the beach, several excellent golf courses and numerous restaurants, cafes and diners, as well as few boat and Jet Ski rentals. Our family has vacationed in the Englewood area for several years and each time we have chosen to stay in a vacation rental as opposed to a hotel. As previous renters ourselves, we could always tell which homes were operated by owners, usually living in other parts of the US, and homes that were managed by a full-time management company. We did extensive research on purchasing homes in this area. We knew that in order to help offset some of the recurring maintenance costs, we would want to use our home for occasional vacation rental. As we currently live in the upper part of the United States, we wanted a reliable management company. We called around to several management companies, but didn’t get a good vibe from most. Many of the companies either didn’t call us back or stated they only performed certain management functions. We finally got in touch with Frank and Isabella at “Charlotte Harbor Home Watch & Property Management”. WOW! What a positive experience it has been so far. We ended up purchasing the “Shalimar” home, which they now manage for us full time. We appreciate the fact that they are always available for our guests upon arrival and throughout their stay.
